serial killer Aeman Lovel Presley

Aeman Lovel Presley murdered three sleeping homeless men and one woman he saw walking alone. If not for trying to skip his $2.50 train fare, he might not have been caught. If he hadn’t been using rare ammunition for his gun – and carrying it with him when he was caught – he might not have been linked to the crimes. Find out more about Aeman Lovel Presley here.

Mugshot of serial killer Robert Charles Charlie Brown

Robert Charles Browne undoubtedly liked the attention he got from authorities. Once caught for his first murder, he began a years-long confession to Charlie Hess. Hess worked as a volunteer in the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s cold-case unit in Colorado Springs. He became Browne’s rapt audience, listening to confession after confession. Over time, most – but not all – of Browne’s confessions were excluded from him being the possible killer. Find out more about Browne in this Dispatch.
